DealerRater Recognizes Honda Cars of Rock Hill with a Consumer Satisfaction Award

DealerRater Recognizes Honda Cars of Rock Hill with a
Consumer Satisfaction Award
The dealership is among the top auto dealers that demonstrate excellent customer service, as rated by online consumer reviews

Honda Cars of Rock Hill has been awarded a 2016 DealerRater Consumer Satisfaction Award, an annual recognition given to auto dealerships that deliver outstanding customer service as rated by online consumer reviews. DealerRater, the car dealer review site for consumers, created the Consumer Satisfaction Award program to let online car shoppers instantly spot dealers that provide high-quality customer service.

Consumer Satisfaction Awards are given to the top 10 percent of U.S. new-car dealers based on their PowerScore™, as well as all U.S. used-car and Canadian (new and used) car dealerships that receive at least 25 annual reviews and maintain an average PowerScore™ rating of 4.0 out of 5.0. The PowerScore™ is determined using a Bayesian algorithm that factors the dealership’s average DealerRater consumer rating and the total number of reviews written about the dealership during the 2015 calendar year.

By receiving a Consumer Satisfaction Award, Honda Cars of Rock Hill is among the contenders for DealerRater’s 2016 Dealer of the Year Award, which recognizes the top performing dealers across the U.S. and Canada.

“We’d like to congratulate Honda Cars of Rock Hill and all of our Consumer Satisfaction Award winners,” said DealerRater CEO Gary Tucker. “DealerRater is where car shoppers learn from their peers which dealers provide stellar customer service and a remarkable in-showroom experience. These reviews even allow consumers to learn if there are specific employees who are going above and beyond to ensure their satisfaction with the shopping or purchase process, so they can find someone they want to give future business to. Now they can quickly identify that Honda Cars of Rock Hill is one of the best in the Charlotte market.”

Honda Cars of Rock Hill has achieved consistently high marks on the DealerRater website, placing it among the top dealerships nationwide. Online shoppers visiting Honda Cars of Rock Hill’s dealer page will find a “2016 Consumer Satisfaction Award winner” badge on their profile to instantly recognize it as a high quality dealership.

DealerRater features more than two million dealer reviews, which are read by more than 14 million car shoppers every year. “Thousands of dealers across the U.S. and Canada compete every year to win our coveted Dealer of the Year award,” says Tucker. “The Consumer Satisfaction Award is one way for online shoppers to instantly recognize quality customer service regardless of brand or region.”

2017 Honda Ridgeline World Debut on Everyman Driver

2017 Honda Ridgeline 1st look & Review

2017 Honda Ridgeline: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know

All-New 2016 Honda Civic Wins “North American Car of the Year” Award

All-New 2016 Honda Civic Wins “North American Car of the Year” Award

DETROIT, January 11, 2016 – The all-new 2016 Honda Civic has earned the prestigious 2016 North American Car of the Year Award. This win for the Civic is the second for the model in the award’s history, following a win for the 2006 Civic a decade ago when it shared the stage with the 2006 Ridgeline, winner of that year’s Truck o...f the Year award. In total, eleven Honda models have been named “finalists” for NACOTY awards since their inception in 1994, the most of any brand outside of the Detroit Big 3 automakers.

“The all-new Civic was developed and is built in North America, making this North American Car of the Year win even sweeter,” said Jeff Conrad, Honda Division senior vice president and general manager. “Civic is a cornerstone of the Honda lineup, and we’re delighted that the automotive press has recognized the new levels of styling, performance, advanced technology, safety and value that characterize the new Civic.”

The North American Car of the Year Award is given by a group of 53 international automotive journalists. The award is unique because instead of being given by a single publication, radio or television station, it is given by automotive journalists from the United States and Canada. Presented each year at the opening of the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, it recognizes the most outstanding car of the year based on factors including innovation, design, safety performance, handling, driver satisfaction and value.

Truly all-new, the 2016 Civic features a new vehicle architecture; sporty and sophisticated new interior and exterior styling; a more spacious and high-quality cabin; two advanced new engines; and a host of new available premium features and technologies, including the first application of both Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ in a compact car sold anywhere in the world. Further, with the addition of Honda Sensing™ safety and driver-assistive technologies and the first application of Honda turbo engine technology to Civic, the 2016 Civic offers buyers a wider range of options than ever before.

The revised and refreshed 2016 Honda Accord!!

2016 Accord Raises its Game with Dynamic Styling, Chassis and Body Upgrades, Available Honda Sensing™, plus Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™

  • Sporty and sophisticated new styling with expanded use of LED lighting
  • New 7-inch Display Audio offered with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™
  • First application of 19-inch wheels on Accord
  • Newly available 60/40-split and folding rear seat, heated rear seats, rain-sensing wipers, and parking sensors
  • New line-topping Touring trim for Accord Coupe
The always popular, benchmark-setting Honda Accord, retail car buyers' most popular choice in 2013 and again in 20141, receives a major mid-model cycle refresh for the 2016 model year. With dynamic new styling, a revised and upgraded body and chassis, and Honda's first-ever application of available Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, the 2016 Accord Sedan goes on sale tomorrow with the Accord Coupe following on August 26. The Accord also benefits from the addition of Honda Sensing™, among the most comprehensive suites of safety and driver-assistive technologies ever offered in the midsize car class, along with a host of available new features and technologies, including HD Radio, heated rear seats, front and rear parking sensors and more. For model year 2016 the Accord Coupe also gets a new top-of-the-line Touring trim, while the Sedan in Sport trim and Touring versions of the Sedan and Coupe get the first-ever application of 19-inch alloy wheels on Accord.
Representing a high value proposition, the 2016 Accord has a starting Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP)2 unchanged from the 2015 model for the Sedan LX and Coupe LX-S. The MSRP for the 2016 Accord Sedan LX with 6-speed manual transmission (6-MT) remains at $22,105 and $22,905 for the Sedan LX with continuously variable transmission (CVT). The Accord Coupe LX-S is also unchanged at $23,775 for the 6-MT and $24,625 for the CVT.
"The best is getting better with the launch of the redesigned 2016 Accord," said Jeff Conrad, Senior Vice President of the Honda Division. "With more customer-relevant technology, an even more refined and sporty ride and top-class fuel economy and safety ratings, the 2016 redesign keeps Accord at the top of its class."
Accord has been named 29 times to Car and Driver magazine's coveted "10Best" list, more than any other automobile, and Accord is the top selling car in America to under-35-year-old car buyers4. The 2016 Accord, with its next-generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure and available Honda Sensing™ technology, received the highest available crash safety ratings from the U.S. government – a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score from the NHTSA – and targets a similar top rating of TOP SAFETY PICK+ from the (IIHS (when equipped with available CMBS).
2016 Accord Sedan models equipped with a 4-cylinder i-VTEC engine and CVT get a 1-mpg bump in their highway EPA fuel economy ratings, to 37 mpg, due in part to the application of a lighter weight and re-sculpted all-aluminum hood, along with new aerodynamic elements and friction-reducing features.

Exterior and Interior Design
Both the 2016 Accord Sedan and Coupe get a major facelift with sportier, more sophisticated styling, front and back. In front is a more sharply creased and intricately structured bumper fascia with outside edges that tuck into large side intakes containing new LED fog lights. On the Accord Sedan, a new aluminum hood with sharper character lines meets up with a brighter, more expressive front grille. In the rear, the Accord Sedan gets restyled LED taillights and a similarly aggressive rear bumper fascia redesign.
All Accord models feature restyled alloy wheels, while Accord Sedans in Sport and above grades get upsized wheels and tires. The Touring sedan also gets a new side-sill garnish and rear deck spoiler. Accord Coupe models also benefit from a more stylish and aggressive front and rear fascia and new grille design. The new styling is complemented by the expanded application of LED daytime running lights (Sport and above trims), LED taillights (all models) and LED fog lights (Sport and above).
The Accord also gets a revised exterior color palette, including a new Kona Coffee Metallic for the sedan (all trims) and Deep Blue Opal Metallic for the Coupe (all trims).
The 2016 Accord cabin also features new fabric and color schemes, depending on model and trim, including a new gloss black interior trim for the Accord Sedan LX and Sport and Coupe LX-S; new seat fabric and leather seat bolsters, and a carbon fiber-style instrumental panel garnish for the sedan in Sport trim; a new tri-coat seat fabric for the EX sedan; and new wood grain-style instrument panel garnish for the sedan in EX and above trims.
Body and Chassis Upgrades
The 2016 Accord's sportier design is matched by its improved dynamic performance. Accord body rigidity is increased through the application of multiple body stiffeners, a sturdier rear bulkhead and a thicker front shock tower bar and is complimented by the application of new high-performance shock absorbers for all models, as well as a retuned electric power steering system. The aforementioned, all-aluminum hood on Accord Sedan not only provides updated character, but also improves both efficiency and dynamic performance.
Within the sedan lineup, the popular Accord Sport trim receives upgraded performance credentials courtesy of larger front brakes, upsized 19-inch wheels and tires and retuned Active Sound Control; while the line-topping Accord Touring (sedan and coupe) also benefits from the same larger front brakes and 19-inch wheels and tires, and for the first time is fitted with Amplitude Reactive Dampers and hydraulic subframe bushings that provide for a more supple ride. The Accord Coupe EX and Coupe EX-L also get 18-inch (+1 inch) wheels. This combination of new body and chassis features and engineering changes is designed to give each Accord model a more clearly defined and distinctive dynamic feeling within the lineup.
The Accord also gets new Straight Driving Assist technology that utilizes the Motion Adaptive Steering system to help reduce the driver's workload when driving on a crowned or canted road surface by providing an automatic counter-steering force.
Honda Sensing
All 2016 Accords can also now be equipped with Honda Sensing™, among the most comprehensive suite of advanced safety and driver-assistive technologies in the class. Honda Sensing™ includes Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS) with Forward Collision Warning, Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) with Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS) and Adaptive Cruise Control, and is available as a standalone option on all trims with the exception of Touring, where Honda Sensing™ is included as standard equipment.
Also, all 2016 Accords feature a standard Multi-Angle Rearview Camera and Expanded View Driver's Mirror and, for the first time on Touring trim models, new auto high-beam headlights that enhance nighttime visibility and driving convenience by defaulting to the high-beam setting and automatically switching to low beams when an oncoming vehicle is detected.
Display Audio with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
The Accord audio and digital experience is also significantly upgraded with the available application of a 7-inch Display Audio touchscreen interface featuring one of the first volume production applications of both Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, plus available HondaLink Assist (e911) and HD Radio. The intuitive and easy-to-use capacitive touchscreen lets users swipe, tap and pinch – just like on a tablet or smartphone – to control the vehicle's audio system, display settings and other advanced features.
Accord Sedan and Coupe EX and above models incorporate Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, offering a multitude of new functions and features, including smartphone-linked navigation, audio streaming, voice-controlled SMS text messaging and more. The new larger 7-inch touchscreen is paired with an upper 7.7-inch high-resolution Intelligent Multi-information Display (i-MID) screen with steering wheel-mounted controls. The i-MID can display audio settings, turn-by-turn directions, time and trip information, LaneWatch and Rearview Camera displays, incoming calls, SMS text messages, and parking sensor alerts.
Upgraded Features
The Accord value proposition is also bolstered by new standard and available features: Accord EX and above trims (Sedan and Coupe) with automatic transmission get remote engine start, 7-inch Display Audio touchscreen and HD radio. SiriusXM satellite radio and Homelink remote, previously on EX-L and Touring, are now standard on EX and above trims. Sport and above trims in the sedan lineup also get a new 60/40 split and folding rear seat, previously a one-piece folding design. The Accord Coupe EX adds a 10-way power driver's seat (previously 4-way with manual height adjustment), while the Coupe EX-L adds a two-position driver's seat memory function. The Accord Sedan in Touring trim gets heated rear seats, front and rear parking sensors and new rain-sensing windshield wipers.
Advanced Powertrains
The Accord Sedan and Coupe are offered with two advanced Honda engines: a direct-injected (DI) 2.4-liter inline i-VTEC™ 4-cylinder and a 3.5-liter VTEC™ V-6 that is the most powerful engine offered in a Honda sedan to date. Available transmissions include a sporty and fuel-efficient CVT for the 4-cylinder engines, unique 6-speed manuals for the 4-cylinder and V-6 engines, and a 6-speed automatic for V-6 models.

Honda Mean Mower hits 60 mph in 4 seconds, cuts to 130 mph [w/video]

Back in June, we reported that Top Gear was building what it hoped would become the world's fastest lawn mower, and had solicited help from Honda and its British Touring Car Championship partner Team Dynamics. Well, they've finished the build and the resulting contraption is the Mean Mower. With a top speed estimated to be over 130 miles per hour, it should beat the 96.529-mph record set by Bobby Cleveland and his Snapper race mower at the Bonneville Salt Flats in September 2010, and take the cake as the fastest lawn mower ever.

Let's start off with the specs: 109 horsepower, 309-pound curb weight and 0-60 mph in four seconds. Crazy numbers, but maybe you'll be comforted that the lawn mower is a Honda HF2620 in name only, with a custom chassis made of 4130 chromoly, a 1,000cc engine from a VTR Firestorm, a paddle-shifted six-speed transmission, a bespoke suspension and wheels from an ATV. The body was sourced from the production mower, however.

Sure, it can cut grass - at 15 mph, double the top speed of a regular HF2620 - using two electric motors spinning 3mm steel-cutting cables at 4000 rpm, but the grass bag has been reengineered to house the fuel tank, a high-capacity oil cooler and a secondary radiator. So much for that clean cut.

Honda says that it has topped 100 mph on track, but there's no video to verify this. (Please Honda!?) But there is a great teaser with reigning BTCC champion Gordon "Flash" Shedden mowing the lawn in a mean way, below.

Honda Automobiles: Honda Expands Accord Lineup this Fall with 2014 Accord Hybrid Featuring Class-Leading MPG Ratings and Exclusive Styling

  • Class-leading 49 mpg EPA city fuel economy rating1anticipated
  • Accord Hybrid shares Accord Sedan's sophisticated design highlighted with exclusive hybrid styling accents
  • Honda's first hybrid to be assembled2in Marysville, Ohio
  • Accord Hybrid to go on-sale nationwide in October 2013
The first official photos of the U.S. version of the all-new 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid set to hit dealerships nationwide this October are now available on the Honda consumer site. The Accord Hybrid features the same sophisticated styling found on the Accord Sedan plus unique hybrid badging and blue-accented grille and light lenses, LED daytime running lights, a unique wheel design and a decklid spoiler.
The 2014 Accord Hybrid will use Honda's new two-motor hybrid powertrain, much of which is shared with the Accord Plug-In that went on sale in January. The two-motor SPORT HYBRID Intelligent Multi Mode Drive powertrain in the Accord Hybrid allows the vehicle to move through three different driving modes EV Drive, Hybrid Drive and Engine Drive to optimize fuel efficiency.
In 'EV Drive', the Accord Hybrid uses the lithium-ion battery to run in electric-only mode at lower speeds and in medium to high speed cruising, 'Engine Drive' sends the engine power directly to the front wheels. In 'Hybrid Drive,' the powerful 124-kilowatt (kW) electric motor and the all-new 2.0-liter DOHC i-VTEC Atkinson-cycle 4-cylinder engine blend together for powerful acceleration while allowing for efficient driving in stop-and-go traffic situations. The Accord Hybrid is anticipated to obtain a class-leading mid-size sedan EPA fuel economy1 rating of 49/45/47 mpg (city/highway/combined).
Inside, the Accord Hybrid's well-appointed and intuitive layout provides the driver with instant fuel economy and energy flow information for efficient driving performance. Along with innovative new features such as Honda's LaneWatch blind-spot display, an industry-first that debuted on the Accord last fall, other available features on the 2014 Accord Hybrid include Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Forward Collision Warning (FCW), an 8-inch color i-MID display, perforated leather-trimmed seating surfaces, cloud-based HondaLink featuring Aha compatibility, seven-speaker audio system with Bluetooth streaming audio, Pandora interface and XM Radio, and a multi-angle rearview camera with guidelines.
The 2014 Accord Hybrid features the same next-generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure as the 2013 Accord, along with Honda's new SmartVent front-side airbags. Like the 2013 Accord, the 2014 Accord Hybrid is expected to earn top safety ratings including an NCAP 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score and a TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
The 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid will be the first Honda hybrid vehicle assembled in Ohio and the second built in the U.S. The Accord Hybrid joins the diverse Accord lineup, which includes the four-cylinder and V-6 powered Accord Sedan, sporty Accord Coupe and the advanced Accord Plug-In, which has the highest EPA MPGe rating of any mid-size hybrid sedan in America at 115 MPGe.

Honda Automobiles: Honda Accord, Odyssey and CR-V Named to KBB.com's 10 Best Family Cars of 2013

The 2013 Honda Accord, Odyssey and CR-V were all named to KBB.com's list of the 10 Best Family Cars of 2013. The three family-friendly Honda models were recognized for their leadership in the key areas of safety, roominess, comfort and value.

"Honda prides itself in designing vehicles around the needs of our customers," said Art St. Cyr, vice president of product planning and logistics at American Honda. "There's no better validation for this effort than being recognized for having vehicles that excel in the areas critical to the family buyer."

All-new for 2013, the Honda Accord was the top ranked sedan on KBB.com's list of family vehicles and had the lowest 5-Year Cost to Own1 among the ten recognized vehicles. KBB.com editors applauded the new Accord for its stylish exterior, fuel-efficient powertrains and available features like the LaneWatch blind spot display. The Accord also earns industry-leading safety scores, having been rated as a TOP SAFETY PICK+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and distinguished by a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) 5-star Overall Vehicle Score.2

The 2013 Honda Odyssey was the top rated minivan on the list, continuing to lead its class in fuel economy and safety ratings, while providing spacious accommodations for up to eight passengers. The Odyssey Touring is rated at a remarkable 28 mpg3, the highest EPA highway fuel economy rating of any eight-passenger minivan. The Odyssey is rated as an IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK, and the Odyssey has earned the best possible overall safety rating from NHTSA with a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score.2

Rounding out the selection of Honda vehicles recognized was the 2013 Honda CR-V, which achieved the highest KBB.com 60-Month Residual Value4 among the ten recognized vehicles. The CR-V is rated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) as a TOP SAFETY PICK and is distinguished by a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) 5-star Overall Vehicle Score.2 Compact on the outside and roomy inside, the CR-V represents an unparalleled balance of size and capability ideal for families.

Revisiting The Runabout Of Record

2013 Honda Fit Sport

The current Honda Fit has been around the block a few times. The subcompact hatch has soldiered on without significant revision since its first update for US customers in 2009, and while Honda is on the verge of launching a third generation, we thought we'd take the time to see how the runabout stacks up against the new wave of small, efficient and plucky five-doors now on the American market. Those include old standbys like the Nissan Versa and Toyota Yaris, as well as relative newcomers like the Chevrolet Sonic and Ford Fiesta.

Those machines may have all covered ground on the Fit, but Honda's wee machine holds a pleasant surprise for those buyers still willing to give the car the time of day. While the rest of the Japanese automaker's lineup has succumbed to dreaded model bloat, the Fit has remained true to the spirit of Honda that we remember from our vagabond youths. This may very well still be the closest genetic ancestor to the Civic models of old.

Outside, the Fit Sport continues to wear its "I'm the meanest June Bug" looks with pride. The oversized, wedge-shaped headlamps and aggressive lower fascia help lend the design plenty of attitude up front, and our tester's 16-inch alloy wheels keep this Honda from looking like it was the cheapest thing on the lot. Still, with a massive windscreen, tall greenhouse and short wheelbase, the Fit Sport can't help but look over-inflated, but that's a criticism we could levy at nearly every other product in this segment as well.
